Following our mission of helping athletes reach their full potential, Rapsodo has partnered with The American Association of Professional Baseball (AAPB) to bring our current and future technology and data to all 11 AAPB teams. Each team within the AAPB, an MLB Partner League, will receive HITTING 2.0 and PITCHING 2.0 units for practice purposes and will administer Certified RapScores for all players to help identify strengths and weaknesses, and put a number to players’ performance.
“We developed Rapsodo’s technology to help athletes reach their full potential. Our data-driven tools highlight existing talent, while also identifying areas to enhance performance for both players and coaches alike,” Rapsodo Founder and CEO Batuhan Okur said.
A Certified RapScore, the first standardized test of its kind that calculates a score to rank player performance at all levels, will provide players with quantifiable skill metrics. This can be used by coaches and scouts to evaluate players against their peers, and players can see where they rank on the Rapsodo National Player Database.
“Our team is excited to help showcase the immense talent and range of players within the AAPB league with this groundbreaking partnership, while continuing our mission to make Rapsodo’s technology accessible to players of all levels,” Okur said.
This partnership marks the AAPB’s first dive into league-wide data collection. League officials feel this new initiative will help provide benchmarks in player development and performance.
“The American Association of Professional Baseball contains high-level professional, hard-working players that perform at Triple A levels, and having the opportunity to now showcase this through data is revolutionary for our league,” AAPB Commissioner Joshua Schaub said. “This partnership with Rapsodo now enables the AAPB to provide our players with the tools, data and development requested to improve performance. We’re excited to take things to the next level for not only our players, but our fans as well. This partnership further cements the American Association’s position as a premier MLB Partner League.”
Founded in 2006, the AAPB has 11 clubs spanning from Canada to Texas. Their season starts on May 17th.
