JOB DESCRIPTION

The Product Testing Engineer plays a significant role in the development process for new software and hardware within Rapsodo’s Engineering team. Product Engineers work closely with software developers and Project Managers to iron out any bugs in the product and improve the quality of the finished product. There’s a common saying in the IT industry, that behind every successful software is a careful Product Tester. Thus, having the right candidate as a Product Tester s vital to the success of the product.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Test hardware and software using Rapsodo’s QA processes and guidelines including:
    • Functionality, systems, product performance, regression and service.
    • This will require throwing and hitting baseballs/softballs with a competitive velocity
  • Work with the Development team to identify and capture test cases/environments and results
  • Setting up test environments and executing assigned testing scenarios
  • Provide feedback on usability and serviceability, trace the result to quality risk report
  • Work closely with Project Managers on all assigned cases/projects/tests
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and similar programs
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Competitive baseball and softball playing experience with the ability to perform physical tasks at a high level. Including pitching and hitting
  • Basic analytic skills (comparative analysis, trend recognition, etc.)
  • Excellent on-Site decision making
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work well as a team or in an individual capacity
  • Ability to work under pressure situations and maintain strict deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s or technical degree
  • 2-3+ years of MLB or NCAA experience as a Video Coordinator, Video Intern, Baseball Ops Intern, or similar
  • Sports technology experience, specifically with Rapsodo or other ball tracking technologies
  • History of involvement in or passion for the sports industry with a high baseball/softball IQ
  • Basic technical competency and knowledge
