The battery is charged while inside the unit. Use the charger provided and plug directly into the USB-C port on the PRO 3.0 beside the power button. The light above the power button will turn blue when the battery is charging.

Yes, the mono side that has the red arrow should be facing the mound and the stereo side should be facing home plate

For best results, each mound or batting cage should be 10-12 ft. apart

Flashing red – the unit is powering on

Solid red – the unit is disarmed

Green – the unit is armed

Blue – the unit is processing a pitch/hit

White – unit is streaming calibration images to the Diamond App

Follow the process in our

Quick Start Guide

After setting up the unit and connecting to it in the Diamond App, tap on the PRO 3.0 icon in the bottom right corner of the Play screen

Tap on the “Recalibrate” button

The lights on top of the unit will turn white and Diamond App will display calibration streams of all 3 cameras

Set up the calibration board flush with the front edge of home plate. Also make sure the board is level by using the bubble level on top of the board.

Make sure the red azimuth line for the Mono camera is in line with the middle of the rubber. Then make sure both red azimuth lines on the Stereo cameras are landing on the calibration board.

Note: if the line on the Mono camera is in line with the middle of the rubber, but the two Stereo lines are not on the board, make sure the unit is directly in line between home plate and the mound

Once all 3 cameras are lined up, tap the “Field Calibration” button in the bottom right corner

You should get a “Calibration Successful” message, after which tap the “Done” button that will populate in the bottom right corner to save the calibration.

Note: If the calibration is not successful, follow the instructions from the popup message at the bottom of the screen and attempt this step again. Again, make sure the unit is set up correctly and that the calibration board is level.

The PRO 3.0 is not currently set up to support pairing with Insight

To perform a live-on-live session, you must first choose the Multiplayer setting in the Diamond App. To do this, follow these steps:

Play Screen>Multiplayer>select all the pitchers and hitters you wish to record data with>Select a Live-on-Live session classification

From here, you will be able to drag and drop players into a Hitters or Pitchers list for the session. Players that are only listed as Pitchers or Hitters will auto populate into the corresponding column.

Once you start the session, you will be able to tap on the left and right arrows of both the hitters and the pitchers to navigate between players

Yes! Follow the same setup procedure with the PRO 3.0 and Diamond App, then choose the Game Mode session classification

1. An active Rapsodo Membership is required to use the PRO 2.0.

2. The PRO 2.0 will utilize a new application called ‘Rapsodo Baseball’. An iPad is necessary to connect the PRO 2.0 to the app and record data. iPad model and operating system are subject to change.

a. Operating System: iOS 17.7 or newer

b. Devices:

i. iPad Pro: 3rd generation and newer

ii. iPad Air: 3rd generation and newer

iii. iPad: 9th generation and newer

1. For baseball use, the PRO 2.0 must be placed 20ft from home plate on flat ground, measured from the front edge of home plate to the front edge of the device’s hitting side.

2. The PRO 2.0 device has a velocity threshold of roughly 40 MPH for pitching velocity and hitting exit velocity. Therefore, any shot under that speed will not be able to trigger the device consistently to record data.

3. For pitching sessions, the PRO 2.0 Baseball offers mound distances of 45, 50, 54, and 60’ 6”.

4. In hitting sessions, incoming pitches can be delivered from various distances if the PRO 2.0 has an unobstructed view of the batter. The PRO 2.0 device will sit 20ft from the front edge of home plate to the front edge of the device’s hitting side. We offer hitting session options for tee work, soft toss, Live/BP, and pitching machine.

1. The PRO 2.0 allows the user to choose what type of data collection the device can do and pay for it accordingly. The options include: Hitting only, Pitching only, or the ability to capture both Hitting or Pitching data.

2. If you originally purchased a Hitting-only OR Pitching-only device and later would like to upgrade to a “combo device” (Hitting AND Pitching), a one-time activation device license fee of $1,000 will be required. This can be managed inside the Rapsodo Cloud portal on the Device Management tab.

Yes! The PRO 2.0 can now provide baseball and softball functionality using our new exclusive apps – Rapsodo Baseball and Rapsodo Softball. Customers will be able to purchase a membership add-on to accommodate both sports. Utilizing a dual sport membership will incur additional annual fees.

7. Lastly, in the Azimuth view of the calibration screen, make sure the red line is down the middle of the pitcher’s mound.

8. Quick Tip: You will not be able to see the pitcher’s mound. It is best to put an object on or directly behind the middle of the pitcher’s mound to ensure the red line is down the middle.

9. You are ready to record pitches!

For best results, each mound should be 10-12 ft. apart.

Data and Accuracy

Proper set up is crucial to ensure accurate data! As well as adequate lighting, clean baseballs/softballs, and reading the user guide to make sure you have the most optimal setup possible. Calibration needs to be done prior to each session, too. This means the camera angles are as close to 90 and 20 degrees as possible, and the red line in the azimuth view is directly down the middle of home plate. We also do not recommend having fans blowing near the unit.

General

INSIGHT is a high-speed camera which captures slow-motion video that pairs with Rapsodo data. The video and data will be integrated which seamlessly connects player mechanics with their data.

Yes, right now the INSIGHT camera will only work with either Pitching 2.0 or Hitting 2.0. It cannot be used independently. Our team is currently developing a way to use INSIGHT without needing to use another device, so stay tuned!

INSIGHT can be charged two different ways:

USBC cable

Ethernet cable – this also powers on the flash.

Both of these options can charge the INSIGHT camera during use or while it’s off.

Yes – INSIGHT can flash when the ethernet cable is plugged in. This is recommended for indoor use. The ethernet cable will also charge the camera.

Application

You will need to use the latest version of the Pitching 2.0 app or Rapsodo Hitting app.

1. Power on INSIGHT Camera (it takes a little bit longer to power on. You want to wait until you hear the fan running to move on)

2. Power on RCE & Monitor

3. Open Rapsodo Pitching 2.0 app or Rapsodo Hitting

Tap Settings and make sure Insight mode it turned ON

Select INSIGHT Pair

4. Create Network (this should be a one time process)

On the right, you should see the available wifi signals: INSIGHT and RCE PITCHING (or HITTING)

Please note both the INSIGHT camera and RCE need to be powered on for this step

Select ‘Create Network’ on the left side of the screen

You will need to name the network – this needs to be exactly 6 characters

Both wifi signals need to be dragged into the newly created network

The INSIGHT wifi needs to be dragged over first

You will receive a notification if they were successfully added

5. Open iPad settings and connect to INSIGHT wifi

6. Go back to the Rapsodo Pitching 2.0 app or Rapsodo Hitting

First, select the top wifi icon in the tool bar – this will connect the INSIGHT (INSIGHT always needs to be connected first)

Once connected, you should see green next to the wifi icon

Second, select the bottom wifi icon in the tool bar – this will connect the RCE (ground unit)

7. All buttons on the left tool bar should be green which signals you are ready to go

**Please note: Step 4 to create the network should only need to happen during initial set up. Once it’s created, your normal set up does not need to include step 4.

**Please note: The INSIGHT unit should always be turned on FIRST then the pitching or hitting unit can be turned on.

Check out our connection video.

The wifi network can be created within the app under Settings > INSIGHT pair. On the right, you should see the available wifi signals: INSIGHT and RCE PITCHING (or HITTING). Select ‘Create Network’ on the left side of the screen. You will be prompted to name the network (this needs to be exactly 6 characters). Both wifi signals need to be dragged into the newly created network. You will receive a notification if they were successfully connected.

Yes – In the app, INSIGHT always needs to connect before the ground unit. This can be done by selecting the top wifi icon in the tool bar first.

Yes – In the app, INSIGHT always needs to connect before the ground unit. This can be done by selecting the top wifi icon in the tool bar first.

Setup

INSIGHT can be placed anywhere! As long as the unit is focused on the correct target (ball, player’s upper body, etc), it will trigger on the thrown pitch or hit ball and give associated data.

You will create a wifi network within the app that includes both signals. Once this is created, you will connect to only the INSIGHT signal under iPad settings.

The camera lens can be focused by adjusting the lens on the physical camera. Once it’s focused the lens can be tightened using the small screw/bolt so it does not shift.

The main difference between the lenses is how wide you want the shot. 6mm is a wider lens, while 16mm is smaller. 16mm is usually used for pitching to focus on the release to see precise hand placement. 6mm can be used to view the whole upper body during pitching or hitting sessions. The lenses can be swapped depending on use and focus of the session.

You will only need a few feet of room behind the pitcher, essentially enough for the tripod to extend and be stable. With hitting, you want to make sure the camera isn’t close enough to get hit with the bat or ball.

No, the pitching unit will be set up in the exact same spot (15 feet 6 inches from front of home plate to back of unit) to be used with Insight. The pitching unit tells the Insight to start recording, so the Pitching unit setup is crucial.

Yes, the tripod will extend to around 9 feet tall to capture tall baseball pitchers, and get around 1 foot tall to capture the low release of a softball pitcher. There is not any additional tripod purchase necessary with Insight.

Insight Stream

We recommend using the flash indoors.

Depending on the lighting, and if flash is necessary. The exposure settings can be turned all the way up or set to around 900.

We do not recommend using the flash outdoors; even if it is dark or cloudy.

Depending on the outdoor lighting, the exposure can be turned all the way down and gain all the way up.

There are a few ways. First, you can change the trigger setting on the Insight config screen. The longer the trigger, the more video on both sides of the pitch or hit you will be able to see. The other way to change the length of the video is by changing the pre and post trigger slow mo. The smaller the percentages on each side, the less slow mo you will see. If both are set to 0, you will get the pitch or hit in real time. If both are 100%, the entire video will be slow mo. Normal percentages for pitch design are around 20% on each side.

FPS is the frequency rate at which consecutive images called frames appear on display. There are two different options to choose from 650fps and 850fps. 650fps is a larger video that allows for more of a full body view. While 850fps is a smaller and slower video that is more zoomed in. This view can focus more on grips and release during pitching sessions.

Yes. All player and coach accounts need to be associated with a legitimate and unique email address. Accounts cannot be under the same email address.

Advise the player to check their spam/junk inbox. The email will come from support@rapsodo.com. It’s very important to only send one invitation to each player. Sending multiple invitations to players will cause issues within our system.

A player or coach account can be created on this link.

If another master coach wishes to invite the player to their roster, the player will just need to provide the email address associated with their active Rapsodo account.

1. Coaches add the player like a normal new player

2. Once this additional invite has been sent, the player will receive a notification in their cloud account and will have the ability to accept or decline the invitation

The notification will appear in the bell icon at the top of the cloud web page

After they are synced from the app, all hitting or pitching sessions are visible on the cloud. They can be viewed under the personal stats tab of the cloud. Please be sure to check the date range in the top right corner of the site. If you are looking for a session from over 1 month ago, you will need to expand the drop time frame using the drop down calendar.

Diamond App

If you have previously added players, whether that’s on the cloud portal or on a different iPad, you will need to connect your current iPad to an actual internet source (NOT Rapsodo WiFi) and click on one of the sync icons.

You are using a Guest Baseball or Guest Softball profile, you must use a created player profile to get all of the premium data points. If you do not have a subscription, one can be purchased on our website here.

There are two ways to view past data on the app:

1. View data on the Home page

Open the Diamond App> tap the Home page, this will separate data by Hitting and Pitching and will show ALL sessions recorded by Oldest to Newest

2. View data through the Team Management page

Open Diamond App>tap the Team Management page>Select player profile, you will now see all of the sessions recorded by that player separated by Hitting and Pitching>tap on the session you wish to view

1. Connect your iPad to an actual internet source. (NOT Rapsodo WiFi)

2. Open the Diamond App and click on the ‘Sync’ icon on the top right corner

3. After syncing for a few moments the icon will show ‘Cloud Sync Completed’ indicating all the data has been synced to the cloud.

Please Note: Recorded videos take longer to sync than data only. Even though the icon will say ‘Cloud Sync Completed’ you may still have videos needing uploaded. To check this, you can open the app settings>Upload Progress, if all files are uploaded they will all say DONE

1. Connect your iPad to an actual internet source (NOT Rapsodo WiFi)

2. Open the application and click on the sync icon.

IMPORTANT:Do NOT re-add players within the cloud.

3.This will create two accounts for the players and will take time to merge to one. This will send your players an activation link that the players will need to click on (sent to their emails)

Use this text to answer questions in as much detail as possible for your customers.

Open Diamond App>Settings>App Settings> toggle OFF Auto-Pitch Tagging

It is always best to fully sync your iPad. If you are recording videos and have Diagnostic mode ON we are storing this on your iPad locally until it syncs to the cloud- just because the data is synced to the cloud does NOT mean the app is fully synced. It is always best to fully sync after every use and you can check this by opening the app>Settings>Upload Progress, and all files should say DONE.

Yes, whichever WiFi access point you connect with the Diamond App will recognize this and the PLAY screen will reflect that.

If you connect to a pitching unit, the PLAY screen will only show pitching metrics. If you connect to a hitting unit, the PLAY screen will show only hitting metrics.

For quick recording of data with multiple players you should use the Multiplayer setting. To do this, follow these steps:

PLAY Screen>Multiplayer>select all the players you wish to record data with>Select the session classification>Record data, you will now be able to tap on the left and right arrows to quickly navigate between players.

To view and edit player profile information, you must be connected to the internet. Connect to WiFi that has internet access and you will be able to edit player information.

Game Mode

Game Mode is an add-on to your current subscription that runs for an additional $2,000 per year.

Yes, you need to have a cloud subscription to run Game Mode.

You will have to have a Rapsodo Hitting 2.0 unit and an iPad Pro 2nd generation to run the app.

Two licenses come with one Game Mode Subscription. This means one Game Mode subscription can be activated on two HITTING 2.0 units at a time.

Yes! This is the ideal setup for Rapsodo Game Mode. You will need an Apple TV that has Bluetooth airplay capabilities OR an HDMI cable (with iPad connector) to view the app on your TV.

Airplay through a smart TV and Apple TV that requires the same WiFi network connection will not work. You will need a TV or Apple TV that is able to airplay via Bluetooth. (Recent models of the Apple TV all have this capability)

1. Turn on your RCE

2. Open the Diamond App >Settings>Subscription

3. Tap ‘Link Device’

4. The last RCE your Diamond App was connected to will appear, tap that RCE

5. Your RCE is now connected!

You do not need internet connection to run the Game Mode. However, you will have to make sure your Diamond App is fully synced to ensure all player profiles are available.

Yes!

Yes! All data is saved the same whether it is recorded in the Game Mode app or the Diamond App

Yes. Game Mode is it’s own separate app, however the two apps are integrated and you will be running both at the same time.

This means your RCE is not paired with a Game Mode License. Here is how to link the two:

1. Turn on your RCE

2. Open the Diamond App >Settings>Subscription

3. Tap ‘Link Device’

4. The last RCE your Diamond App was connected to will appear, tap that RCE

5. Your RCE is now connected!
