THE METRICS THAT MATTER MOST
How fast a pitch is traveling during flight, measured in miles per hour (MPH).
The rate at which the ball spins during flight, measured in rotations per minute (RPM).
The spin directly impacting the movement of a pitch. Also known as “useful spin” it is perpendicular to the direction the ball is traveling, deflecting the otherwise straight horizontal and vertical path of the ball.
The tilt or angle of the baseball from the release point, measured in degrees, created by the Magnus effect. The Magnus effect is created by the air pressure surrounding the spinning baseball on its path to home plate.
Measurement that tells us how well a pitcher stays behind the ball at release.
The horizontal movement of a pitch from the right (+) and left (-) from the center of home plate.
The percentage of spin directly impacting the movement of a pitch. Spin efficiency is the ratio of true spin to total spin.
The vertical movement of a pitch at the height the ball crosses the strike zone.
The point at which a pitcher releases the ball.
The height of the ball at the point of release.

The rate at which the ball spins during flight, measured in rotations per minute (RPM).
Understand how your hitters perform against different pitches with complete inbound pitching data.
The speed of the baseball as it comes off the bat immediately after contact.
Angle the ball leaves the bat relative to the ground.
Distance the baseball traveled in the air.
The direction, plotted on a baseball diamond, that an in-play ball takes in flight.
The horizontal movement of a pitch from the right (+) and left (-) from the center of home plate.

From data to device and everything in between, Rapsodo PRO 2.0 delivers a complete ecosystem for both coaches and players.
WHICH PRO IS BUILT FOR YOU?
What is required to operate the PRO 2.0?
1. An active Rapsodo Membership is required to use the PRO 2.0.
2. The PRO 2.0 will utilize a new application called ‘Rapsodo Baseball’. An iPad is necessary to connect the PRO 2.0 to the app and record data. iPad model and operating system are subject to change.
a. Operating System: iOS 17.7 or newer
b. Devices:
i. iPad Pro: 3rd generation and newer
ii. iPad Air: 3rd generation and newer
iii. iPad: 9th generation and newer
What are the criteria for a hit or pitch to be captured by the PRO 2.0?
1. For baseball use, the PRO 2.0 must be placed 20ft from home plate on flat ground, measured from the front edge of home plate to the front edge of the device’s hitting side.
2. The PRO 2.0 device has a velocity threshold of roughly 40 MPH for pitching velocity and hitting exit velocity. Therefore, any shot under that speed will not be able to trigger the device consistently to record data.
3. For pitching sessions, the PRO 2.0 Baseball offers mound distances of 45, 50, 54, and 60’ 6”.
4. In hitting sessions, incoming pitches can be delivered from various distances if the PRO 2.0 has an unobstructed view of the batter. The PRO 2.0 device will sit 20ft from the front edge of home plate to the front edge of the device’s hitting side. We offer hitting session options for tee work, soft toss, Live/BP, and pitching machine.
What functionality options are available with the PRO 2.0?
1. The PRO 2.0 allows the user to choose what type of data collection the device can do and pay for it accordingly. The options include: Hitting only, Pitching only, or the ability to capture both Hitting or Pitching data.
2. If you originally purchased a Hitting-only OR Pitching-only device and later would like to upgrade to a “combo device” (Hitting AND Pitching), a one-time activation device license fee of $1,000 will be required. This can be managed inside the Rapsodo Cloud portal on the Device Management tab.
Will the PRO 2.0 work for both Baseball and Softball?
Yes! The PRO 2.0 can now provide baseball and softball functionality using our new exclusive apps – Rapsodo Baseball and Rapsodo Softball. Customers will be able to purchase a membership add-on to accommodate both sports. Utilizing a dual sport membership will incur additional annual fees.
Is there an option to trade-in my current Rapsodo device(s)?
Yes. Click to learn more about the Pro Series Upgrade Program.
